The stimulus tells us that "the club's party committee knows the costs involved but nonetheless will wait until next Saturday to pay." In other words, the party committee does know that by waiting until next Saturday to pay, they will paying a lot more than they would pay today.

Even if "most members of the club's party committee are not aware of the glee club's financial situation" (as the negation of Answer B would state), it is still entirely possible that they care little about saving money since they are not choosing the option that they know would save them money.

To be clear, the glee club's "financial situation" in Answer B is not referring to the specific costs of this rental discount being offered today, which the party committee is aware of. Instead, it's referring to their financial situation more generally, such as their overall assets and liabilities.
