There's two reasons Answer Choice (C) is not the correct answer. First, it goes beyond the scope of Kim's argument. She is only comparing gasoline and electric cars - she doesn't speak to "all forms of automobile transportation". It's possible that "automobile transportation" could also include buses or other more consolodated methods of travel which would reduce the total air pollution. It's unclear, but it is an indicator that this isn't a strong answer choice. Another issue with answer (C) is that it only conveys the idea that all forms of automobile transportation are equally harmful and completely misses the comparison between electric and gas cars. What Kim is really trying to say is that electric vehicles aren't the perfect solution to this problem that some people think. If we said answer choice (C) was Kim's main point, we would completely omit this information.
