Hey Miralon,

The author's tone towards the new historians of science is somewhat critical, but they also present some pros for the group. The question specifically asks us to characterize the author's assessment based on the passage, and there is no support for answer choice (B) in the passage. The author does not value the opinions of these new historians; rather, the author thinks we can use those opinions to guide us towards more valuable insight - this is discussed throughout the last paragraph.
