So I got this correct but was between A and D. Just to reaffirm my thought process... I saw D and didn't like how it said the current debate was "summarized". Because a summary would not have given the authors perspective of how it's a good idea Parry's kid took over - stated by "appropriately" in the last paragraph - and doesn't merely summarize but gives more of a direction by the end of the passage.

A said it's origins are examined...and examined is whatever but thought that could work a lot better than summarize. What do you think?

Hi Khodi,
You are correct that 'summarized' doesn't really explain the organization of the passage and the focus is not on a 'current debate'. Instead the passage focuses on where the recent surge of interest in Homer has come from, and it tracks/explains the roots of the current scholars' foci.
Hope that helps,
Malila
