Hi I dont' understand why E ) is not correct answer here considering Line 25-28 directly supported by answer choice e)

the only basis that I thought b) could be correct, steady-state economists thus believed that the concept of an ever-growing economy is dangerous and the only altertaive is to maintain a state which the economy remains in a equilibrium with nature. as in "the only alternative is to maintain a state which the economy remains in a equilibrium with nature. " But as you can see, this premise is offered as a solution for fixing an economic problem here not as for why the ever-growing growth is dangerous.

I think you may have had an error in your grading. E is the correct answer. I have noticed this issue before on some of your questions.
