Experts,

I missed Q7. I was down to B and C and ended up choosing C. I didn't like the word "unique" in B). I couldn't find the support for "unique." The author says that Bearden pioneered "the techniques" (line 4), but I am not sure whether he says that his work is unique.

I could think of C as that the answer choice focuses more on his style of painting. On the other hand, the passage is focused more on the sociological aspect in Bearden's paintings. Correct?

I am lost. Please help.

thanks

Hi voodoochild,

Take another look at that first paragraph--the author says that Beardon committed his life to "perfecting the innovative techniques he pioneered." Pretty good support for "unique," whereas C, as you properly alluded to, refers to techniques that Beardon made available "to the dedicated artist," which the author didn't really focus on in the passage.

I hope that's helpful--let me know--thanks!
