Why is E wrong ?? Again, I was between C & E, and ultimately chose C, just by a 50/50 guess. They both seem totally right !? Halp Plz!

The problem with E, angel, is that Bettelheim is NOT emphasizing the manifest content of a tale. Look back to lines 24-28 or so, and you'll see where the author says there are two ways to interpret a story. Bettelheim is firmly in the second camp, where deeper meaning takes priority over content. It's in that way that he is able to read into these tales the idea that children are transgressors in need of punishment and that adults are relatively free from guilt. That's what the author dislikes, and we know that because later, around line 49, he tells us that it is fortunate that this view has been somewhat discredited.

Check the key differences between your two contenders and, when needed, return to the passage to find what those differences really mean and how they relate back to the question at hand. That will be time well spent if it helps you to confidently eliminate the remaining losers and get down to the winner!

Keep up the good work!
