Hi, I am an international student and my gpa is "Above Average".
I got some C and D in math classes , but I want to tell AdComs that I'm good at writing papers and taking essay-style exams.
But is it unnecessary for an international student to write an transcript/gpa addendum? Also I’m worried if my explanation is not strong enough but rather sounds like an excuse.
Thank you for your help!

Hmm, this really depend son the execution. Done well, it can score points; done poorly, it could be seen as an excuse. My advice here would be to write a draft of the addendum, then redraft and refine it multiple times. By then you'll know whether it's striking the right tone for you. This is one where you need to try it in order to see if you can pull it off.

Thanks!
