I was homeschooled for my whole life up until I went to a community college and my first semesters were a little rocky grade-wise. Throughout the rest of my time there and from when I transferred to a university, my GPA was a 4.0. Should I right an addendum to ensure law schools notice the upward trend?

Hi Arielle,

If you have a circumstance that helps to explain a grade trend, absolutely provide it! The key is that you want to write it not as an excuse, but as a story that highlights your positive growth. You acknowledge where you struggled, but you highlight where you succeeded. We have an excellent article on addenda here that also links to an awesome podcast that goes into more detail.

Congrats on a great upward trend!
