Is it necessary to do the optional question on a law school application? I'm applying to a school where my score lands me right into the competitive cusp of things (158 first LSAT & 4.00 GPA). It's an optional essay on how I can add to or support their commitment to equity/ justice/inclusion.

The rule is that if you have something to say of value, then it's usually a good idea to write them. It's one more chance to show them who you are! The time not to write one is when you don't have anything of value to add, or when you are making stuff up. Avoid that like the plague.

Thanks!
