Complete Question Explanation
(See the complete passage discussion here: lsat/viewtopic.php?t=11615)

The correct answer choice is (B)

We might note the VIEWSTAMP analysis in the passage discussion in order to effectively attack this Author’s Perspective question. Since it is a Must Be True question as well, the correct answer choice will pass the Fact Test, and be supported by the information in the passage, and the four incorrect answer choices will not. Correct answer choice (B) is confirmed by the final paragraph, beginning on line 54: mediation can reduce stress, and studies show that most participants of family mediation report positive feelings about the process, believing it to be more rational and human than court adjudication. None of the other answer choices are accurate according to the information provided in the passage, confirming answer choice (B) as the correct answer choice.

Thank you for the explanation. While answering this question, I got down to B and C as the final set of contenders. Is C incorrect because the "adjudication is more efficient" part of the answer choice is not in fact supported by the text?

Thank you!

Hi Bwachs,

Yes, in fact the author would agree with the proponents of family mediation (since the author prefers that approach), and the passage tells us that "[p]roponents of family mediation point out that it constitutes a more efficient...process than litigation." So answer choice C's assertion that "court adjudication is more efficient" is actually counter to what the author would agree with.

Good work!
