I dont understand how B is the answer ? I mean how Paragraph 2 is the answer for B?

The question asks why the author mentions the relative inaccessibility of the cave paintings. The author uses paragraph two to mention this inaccessibility and then immediately point out the unlikeliness that they were there for artistry--otherwise they would have been displayed more publicly.

Since the author goes on to discuss a fuller explanation of the paintings' actual function, answer choice B looks like a winner.

Answer Choice (A) is incorrect because the author simply does not care about the lives of the artists. The focus in this passage is on the function and origin of the art itself.
