D tripped me up because I thought that since the cannibalistic ones don't bare as many young, they wouldn't be PRESERVING their kin in a sense. "Preserving its own life" is one of the reasons in the conclusion. So I thought that D would be undermining this.

Please help me avoid an issue like this.
