Hello,
I missed this question and I was hoping to confirm why A is wrong. My thought in retrospect is that while A may be correct in what it is saying, that does not mean it can be the answer. Should the main point be an answer choice that best describes the passage as a whole? I can see where B does that in this case (B was my contender).

Exactly bebeg! The correct answer choice in a main point question needs to be something beyond just what must be true based on the passage. It also has to correctly describe the main point of the passage as a whole. Answer choice (A) is something that must be true based on the passage. But it doesn't describe the main point of the passage as a whole. Answer choice (A) is a fact about the subject of the passage, but the correct answer choice, answer choice (B), does include the author's viewpoint and purpose overall.

Great work!
