Hi Powerscore staff,

I still have a problem with D; I understood that the director makes a certain necessary assumption for its rebuttal, which is irrelevant to the editor's argument. But the editor's argument, in its last sentence, seemingly makes an assumption about how its readers' response will be (i.e. suspects and the resulting dropping readership). So I was thrown off by D because it was not the case that "the editor's argument does not depend on any assumption...". Could you help explain where I am mistaken in my reasoning?

Also, the question type of this question is really upsetting. It looks like a hybrid of 'method of reasoning' and 'flaw'. Does any recent (PT80s-) test employ this pattern?

I understand why I had these troubles: (1) the director actually alludes to a certain necessary consequence for its rebuttal (not necessary assumption); (2) the editor explicitly states a hypothetical situation, which is not an "assumption about its readers' response".
