I narrowed it down to A & E, and landed on the correct answer because I felt that A was not something that could be concluded with the premise provided. Is there a more sound reason as to why A is wrong?

Hi saiffshaikhh!

Let's break down our stimulus:

Premise 1) All art criticism is political because all art has political implications.
Premise 2) If a critic addresses an artwork's political implications, they are engaged in political discourse.
Premise 3) If a critic tries to only evaluate an artwork aesthetically, they end up endorsing the politics of the artist.

You're right that the reason Answer Choice A is wrong is because it's out of scope. A critic overtly addressing an artwork on its political implications has no bearing whatsoever on whether or not they ever endorse art for art's own sake. Further, our stimulus makes no mention of critics appreciating/endorsing art for art's sake. It's just not relevant to our question. This is a perfectly valid reason to discard Answer Choice A in and of itself.

I hope this helps!
