I think that is sound advice. I'm starting to see the correct answers not solely as correct in isolation but correct in relation to the other answers as well. Thanks for taking the time to respond.

That's a totally reasonable way to see it! The correct answer will always be better than the others. Usually it's also 100% defensibly correct, but not always. 99 times out of 100 I'll say an answer is both correct both relatively and absolutely, but that obviously allows for exceptions.
