I think the wording here in the application “three of the books” is what makes A incorrect. Three of the books can be out of a hundred books. It’s too broad and you can infer that “some are not children’s books” but that doesn’t tell you that those books are the ones being discussed in the application. Is that the correct way to interpret “three of the books”?

I'm having some trouble following your question because "three of the books" is part of the stimulus rather than part of answer choice (A). The reason (A) is incorrect is that it says some of the books she has out on loan are not children's books, but we don't know if any of those are overdue. If none of the non-children's books are overdue, the application would not be justified.
