Why is A correct and B wrong? They are pretty much saying the same thing right?

Not at all! In fact, they are saying almost the exact opposite of one another.

The stimulus tells us that the most complex, hard to understand stories are also the most interesting stories. It concludes that some of the most interesting stories will not get published, and we are to fill in the blank as to why. Why won't they cover interesting stories? Because they don't want to publish stories that are hard to understand (answer A).

Answer B suggests that they SHOULD publish complex, hard to understand stories, because they have to publish interesting stories to stay in business. We need an answer that explains why they do not publish interesting stories, and B is telling us why they should, making it all the more confusing that they don't.
