Hi,

On the December 2007 test, in logical reasoning, section 1, I was having trouble differentiating a few answers:

For question 16, I'm not sure why E is right and why C is wrong.

I didn't see any test explanations online, so any help you can provide would be great!

Thanks,
Sarah

Hello,

This is a must be true question; you're looking for the answer that HAS to be true, given the stimulus. The only answer that must be true is E: The stimulus says laws have to be viewed as an expression of a moral code, AND that there must be exceptions to moral prohibitions against the violation of statutes, which means that sometimes the statutes must conflict with the moral codes they are expressing. C is not a conclusion we can draw from the stimulus since it says there is no distinguishing between compliance with laws and morality; that is not a reasonable representation of what we know from the first sentence of the stimulus.

Hope that helps!
