Hi,

On the December 2007 test, in logical reasoning, section 1, I was having trouble differentiating a few answers:

- For question 19, I'm not sure why A and not B.

I didn't see any test explanations online, so any help you can provide would be great!

The stimulus uses cause and effect reasoning: Those that have usually done one thing and switch to doing a second thing usually have a certain outcome. Therefore, people who currently do the first thing could get the certain outcome by switching to the second thing.

The underlying idea is that the outcome is caused by switching from the first thing to the second thing.

That same exact reasoning is used in A. B doesn't work because it says "certain" small companies, suggesting it is not a universal truth the way the stimulus and A present.
