Good Afternoon,

Can I please receive some explanation regarding question 20 as part of the Logical Reasoning Problem Set #1.


#20: "Observatory director: Some say that funding ... ." I had choice A and E as contenders.

Hello,

Answer E has a common-sense appeal: the present-day astronomers in question, who want funding, may be a bunch of Joe (or Jane) Idiots compared to giants like Maxwell, etc.
As for answer A: where does it appeal to the authority of experts? And even if it did, why does the issue of construction of the megatelescope matter at all?
