Hello,

I am having difficulty difficulty confirming if my line of thought for this question is right or not.

Here is my analysis:

Proponents Claim: Proponents have claimed astronomically high odds against obtaining a match by chance alone.

Evidence/Premise: These odds are based on an assumption that there is independence between the different characteristics represented by a single pattern.

--Answer choice E is wrong because it talks about genetic diseases whereas the stimulus talks specifically about genetic characteristics. That distinguishes it from answer choice C which focuses on genetic characteristics.

Do you think my line of thinking in choosing answer choice C over E is correct?

Thank you!
A.

Yep, you got it! Great work! It is awesome to see a poster struggle through a problem and then come to us with the answer you think is right; definitely the way to learn the most. :)
