Hey PowerScore,

I am taking the live course and my practice test scores have been steadily increasing. I got a 159 on the diagnostic test, but worked my way up to the mid-160s. Since then, my two recent practice tests have nosedived. I even got a 158 on the test I just took, so literally less than when I started learning about the test.

I do not know what to do, my test is in 17 days, so I feel like taking a day off could be detrimental, but what I am doing might not be working. I just need some suggestions on where I need to go from here.

Hi Megan,

Thanks for the post. A few thoughts here. :)

First, please rest assured that seeing a score drop or variances in your score when you study is not uncommon! It is often because as you learn new concepts, your timing is slowing down as you learn to practice and apply the new concepts efficiently. If you find that your score has decreased, make sure that you are actively analyzing the changes in your performance.

I would suggest taking a look at your progress on specific sections and concepts in the exam. You might find the following PowerScore Blog posts about score drops helpful:

Lastly, you mentioned you're thinking about taking a break for a day or two. We would recommend that even if it's just for a few days! :-D This article will provide more insight into why breaks from the LSAT can actually help: https://blog.powerscore.com/lsat/bid-2 ... our-score/
