As someone with ZERO knowledge of lsat...I'm going into this cold. What is the best material to review/study before attempting the first experimental test recommended ahead of the start of class? And how long should I expect to block out for the test?

Thanks for the post. It is not necessary to do any LSAT prep before taking the experimental test.
The first practice test is used as a diagnostic exam to familiarize you with the LSAT exam, provide you with practice taking the exam under timed conditions, and act as a benchmark of your performance.
You will want to take it timed, (35 minutes per section with a 10-minute break between the second and third sections, so 2.5 hours total).
As you progress through the course, you will continue to take LSAT exams to measure your progress and practice your skills. You will want to review any additional practice tests you take:
