Hello I've got some question about this issue I've been noticing with my LSAT practice. I've noticed that my progress has been fluctuating a lot during my practice sessions. There are times when my score in the question sets goes up and sometimes it goes down or remains the same. For questions easy to medium questions (1, 2, & sometimes 3 stars) questions correct but for medium to hard questions (4 & 5 Stars) I usually answer those questions incorrectly and rarely get them right. I would like to know how I can improve on mastering the concepts and strategies? Is it normal for my progress to fluctuate like this? Also, what do I need to work on or change to make more progress? I am planning on taking my practice exams and timed exam sections soon and I am concerned about my fluctuating progress because I want to apply what I've learned under timed conditions. If anyone can offer any advice, tips, strategies please let me know. Thank you.

Hi Oz,

Your fluctuation is totally normal, and, if it is indeed tied to question difficulty, expected.

The key is to track those harder questions you are missing and look for patterns within them. Is it often Flaw questions you are missing? Good, then you can attack those and find what's tripping you up. Or, is it Must questions? Also good, know you know you are missing some facts within what you are reading, and so on.

I wouldn't let your fluctuating progress stop you from taking tests. think about it like driver training--your knowledge of the rules isn't solid yet, but that shouldn't stop you from doing some test drives to see what it's like behind the wheel :-D

It takes time and patience, but you are asking the right questions and you will get there!
