If G is opened first and I is opened third, then from the fifth rule K must be opened second:

With G and I—two of the most unrestricted variables—accounted for, the options for the remaining variables are limited. H, O, and L must be opened sixth, seventh, and eighth, leaving N and P to rotate between fourth and fifth:

In a Must Be True Except question, then, you should immediately look for N or P in the answers, as neither must be in a fixed position. Answer choice (D) states that N is fourth, and since N can be opened fifth, (D) is not necessarily true and therefore correct.

I created an account to ask a question about this one but realized the answer.

N can be 4th but it doesn’t have to be, it can also be 5th, per the rules.

K has to be 2nd
H has to be 6th
O has to be 7th
L had to be 8th

Making all those the wrong answer and B the correct answer.
