Below are two questions from a student pertaining to the PowerScore LSAT LRB. The answers are from LRB author Dave Killoran.

2017 LR Bible Pg 32-33 – Additional Premise Indicators
"This section discussion discusses how to recognize Additional Premise indicators. In taking the LSAT, will it be necessary to distinguish a “primary” premise from a secondary premise?"

Dave: "Yes, at times the LSAT presented answer choices that require making this distinction, or required you to be able to analyze the specific role being played by a certain premise."

2017 LR Bible Pg 45 – Argument Analysis
"Do “secondary” premises, as recognizable by Additional Premise indicators, make an otherwise weak conclusion strong?"

Dave: "Their role is to add additional helpful information, so the basic idea is that additional premises are adding strength to the conclusion. However, this does not mean that their existence automatically proves the conclusions or makes it strong. There are instances of arguments where none of the conclusions independently or jointly prove the conclusion (which is true both on the LSAT and in the real world!)."
