If K is all alone one day (paired with our X, which stands for the empty space in the diagram), which day could that be? Not Thursday, because that would break up the JG block. What about Wednesday? If you try that, then J is Thursday and G is Friday, and there will be too many meetings after K and before G, even if K is on Wednesday afternoon. In fact, H, L, and J would all be after K and before G in that case, way more than the maximum one meeting that is allowed between K and G. So by default, if K is alone, it's on Friday, either in the morning or the afternoon.

H and L must fill the other two mornings, and it doesn't matter which does which. That forces J to be Wednesday afternoon and G to be Thursday afternoon, like so:

H/L L/H K/X
J  G  X/K

Thus, answer B is correct - H can be Thursday morning.

A. G cannot be in the morning because H and L have to take up those two morning slots
C. J can't be Thursday - it must be Wednesday in order to make this work
D. K cannot be Thursday, as discussed above - this arrangement only works if K is on Friday
E. L can't be Friday because K is on Friday and is alone there per the restriction provided in the question

I am very lost on why K cannot be Thursday by itself, since the rule says no more than one client between them, but never said that there could not be more than one slot between them. Why can't K be Thursday morning, X thursday afternoon, H friday morning, and then G Friday afternoon? There's only one client in between them still....when reading that rule i really thought that they were going to try and catch me with making the wrong inference, that K and G can't have both a client and the X in between them. Could you explain?

Hi Abigaili,

The rule that comes into play here is actually the JG rule. J must be scheduled for the day before G. If K is alone on Thursday, it would be impossible for J and G to be on consecutive days.
