Complete Question Explanation

The correct answer choice is (D). For this game, we know that P is earlier than G, so P cannot be last. We also know that S is earlier than T, so S cannot be last. The last rule tells us that F and S are consecutive but it doesn't specify whether it's FS or SF. Either way, that SF/FS block has to be earlier than T. So it's either FS :longline: T or SF :longline: T. That means that F cannot be last either. Since F has to be next to S, it also has to be earlier than T. So that means that P, S, and F cannot be last. There are only 2 out of our 5 options that could still be last: G and T. Thus, the answer is (D).

Answer choice (A): Only G and T can be last, thus this answer choice is incorrect.

Answer choice (B): Only G and T can be last, thus this answer choice is incorrect.

Answer choice (C): Only G and T can be last, thus this answer choice is incorrect.

Answer choice (D): This is the correct answer choice. Only G and T can be last, thus this answer choice is correct.

Answer choice (E): G and T can both be last, thus this answer choice is incorrect.

I struggle with global questions, especially on linear games. I chose C for this question, but I saw from my results that the correct answer was D. Would someone please be able to explain how to solve this question?

Thanks,
Shah

Hi Shah!

For this game, we know that P is earlier than G, so P cannot be last. We also know that S is earlier than T, so S cannot be last. The last rule tells us that F and S are consecutive but it doesn't specify whether it's FS or SF. Either way, that SF/FS block has to be earlier than T. So that means that P, S, and F cannot be last. There are only 2 out of our 5 options that could still be last: G and T. Thus, the answer is (D).

Hope this helps!

Kelsey
