Could some explain why the answer for this question is D and not C? I found three variables (J, N and R), not just two, that could fit in the second slot if V is in 4. I am obviously missing something. Please help! Thank you!

J in 2:
R J N V K S

N in 2:
R N J V K S

R in 2:
J R N V K S

Hi j,

Sure!

Your second diagram (N in 2) breaks the first rule, that the "Joysmith cannot be auctioned immediately before...the Villa." With that option out, you're only left with two possible diagrams, validating answer choice D.

I hope this helps!
