I don’t understand why the stimulus is so much easier to diagram than the answer choices.

Answer choice A has a conclusion with never while the stimulus has a conclusion with unlikely. Is that enough to eliminate?

Yes, the degree of certainty mismatch in answer choice (A) is an absolutely fatal problem with it.
