I went with (E) although I was stuck between (D) and (E). Upon review, I can't find anywhere in the passage that suggests dowsing is utilized to locate things other than water. How is this answer choice correct?

Hi elyssa,

Take a look at the first sentence; dowsing is used for "detecting resources or objects beneath the ground." That phrasing makes it clear it is not limited just to water. Hope that helps!

Also, line 59 suggests dowsers can detect dry fracture zone other than water.
