Hello there!

I got this correct on my initial try during a PT; however, I was inclined to choose A at first, and then realized D is not only stronger in its wording/force "no techniques" but also that there was a technique clearly. I didn't get to the whole DNA analysis bit to lead me to answer D but rather I focused on the second sentence of the stimulus which says that "botanists...naming plants without realizing that MANY WERE IN FACT ALREADY NAMED" if botanists discovered that plants were in fact already given names they must CLEARLY have had some form of technique to do this otherwise how could they determine that "in fact" some plants were already named? Which is why D immediately stood out to me as wrong (cannot be true). Further, I was able to let go of A because I actually don't know whether most of the duplicates and omissions in the record have been cleared up or not -- and because I can't say this for certain, it could be true and therefore is not the answer I am looking for.

Please tell me if my reasoning here was correct! Thank you ;)
