Hi Kevin!

Answer choice (A) is supported by the last sentence in the passage.

Answer choice (B) does not answer the question. The question asks why the paintings included the representation of elaborate buildings. The fact that the subjects of the paintings were often religious stories does not tell us why the paintings included elaborate buildings.

The passage compares the Venetian narrative paintings with religious subjects to the Tuscany narrative paintings with religious subjects and discusses the practical reasons why the Venetian paintings are different. One difference is that they have elaborate buildings; the last paragraph explains that this was a way of showing their skill.

Hope this helps!

Best,
Kelsey
