Why is C wrong? I thought it shows how lore dealt with the songs and tales and the folk was the creative people.

Thanks!

You've got the right idea here, emilyjmyer - we need something analogous to how those studies focus on the work product of those creative folks but ignores the creators themselves.

Answer C is about choosing one source of information while ignoring another, so that's good, but the source being ignored (journalists) isn't the source that created the thing being studied (the historical event). They aren't like the folk, who created the lore. They're just some people who witnessed something as it happened. Observers, not creators.

Meanwhile, answer A is about studying the work product (the implements) but ignoring the people who produced it. That's a much better analog to our lore/folk disparity!
