Can someone please confirm / deny my reasoning below?? :

A is incorrect because: the passage does not mention lava's levels of CO2 comparative to meteorites; it does not mention CO2 levels of meteorites at all. Also, the author never confirms that the existence of large meteorites during this time to be true.

B is incorrect because: the molten rock mentioned in the answer choice IS the lava that the question stem is asking about (Lines 26-34).

C is incorrect because: the theory indicates that it was CO2 that caused the climactic change, not iridium. The lava (AKA the lower region of Earth's mantle/the molten rock, once erupted) does contain large amounts of iridium, but not in a way that had an effect on climate change.

D is correct because: Lines 13-14: "iridium is extremely rare in rocks on the Earth's surface but common on meteorites" combined with Lines 40-42: "the lower regions of the Earth's mantle have roughly the same composition as meteorites and contain large amounts of iridium"

E is incorrect because: of the explanation to both answer A and answer D.

Does that all look good ?? Thanks.
