The reason we mark during rc

I am just making sure, the reason we mark in the text are the two folds:
1. When we go back to text, To help us to find the required information to answer the Questions.
2. To help us to comprehend the text and organize the text in Viewstamp manner.

But mostly, reason #1.is the more significant reason than reason #2 that why we should mark the text.

Yes, that's generally the case. But, keep in mind the overarching rule about notations: make them when they help you organize and understand what you are reading. Don't just mark for the sake of marking, make sure it's benefiting you. This is why some people mark very little and other mark quite a bit. So, the task is to find your personal level of comfort with marking that's optimal for you
